Numbering-up liquid-liquid systems in microfluidic reactors: A parametric study

Present parametric study shows that the flowrate, number of channels, hydrodynamic resistances and phase ratio significantly affect maldistribution in parallel microfluidic reactors (i.e., numbering-up). Especially effect flow rate has not been reported before. However, these findings are a qualitative nature due to high degree variability between experiments. Additional experiments show stable point operation easily shifts considered set-ups, explaining this variability. Therefore, Multivariate Analysis Variance (MANOVA) SPSS is introduced partially compensate for variance and, also, manage large data set results from study. It shown introducing advanced statistical methods can provide additional insights further push field numbering-up.
